Robin Donovan Bocchiaro is a historian who likes to know how things happened and why things happened, what motivates people to make the decisions that they do. In the past, this has lead to interests in forensic science and anthropology. In her most recent work, it has manifested itself as an in-depth study of international economics leading up to the Boston Tea Party as well as her more personal study of Mercy Otis Warren. (Robin had posts published on both topics at On King Street: Official Blog of the Bostonian Society1.) Even more recently, she has begun to study international climates around economic bubble bursts, from the East India Tea Bubble to the Wall Street Crash of 1929. Robin has some history related content here on her website, but she also writes a monthly Substack newsletter: Foxtrot Firefly’s History Inquiry.
Robin is interested in developing educational programs to help promote public history and making that history real and relevant. Robin holds a Masters degree in Education and a Bachelor’s in Anthropology. As a mom, she has been exploring ways to introduce kids to historic places and preservation. She has also been assisting on son et lumiere exhibitions as an Educational Programming Consultant. Examples can be seen at ClerestoryLight.com

1 Please note, On King Street was taken down and replaced with Boston Reconsidered when The Bostonian Society merged with Old South Meetinghouse to become Revolutionary Spaces. You can find the new website here: www.revolutionaryspaces.org. Sadly, the four blog posts Robin wrote are no longer available. Only one blog post from before 2020 is still available to read.
