I managed to hit my mid-point goal of 36 books over the long weekend, so while it isn’t exactly the mid-point of the year, I figure it’s close enough. That being said, having hit the 36 book mark a full month ahead of schedule, I’m pretty pleased with my progress this year. My reading total took a bit of a hit when I only finished 1 book in the month of February.
So far, romance novels have absolutely dominated my reading list. (I have only finished 3 books that were not romance novels.) The books that were not were mostly mysteries (Kate Quinn and Claudia Gray), though both books also had relationship aspects that kept me reading. The last one was mystery adjacent with Poirot and Me by David Suchet.
It sometimes amazes me that I get as much reading done as I do with a toddler hanging around – though the last few weeks I have rediscovered the Libby app, and that has done wonders as I always have a book on me if it’s on my phone. There are also a lot of backlist titles that have no wait, so that is awesome too. Though I admit, I’m waiting on the latest Harper St. George.
Hope your reading journey in 2023 is going well!
