100 Happy Days, Part 1

Day 25)
5 February
SNOW DAY! I can never not be happy when there is snow falling out of the sky. Brought my boss a cookie. I like seeing other people smile.

Okay, so 100 days in one blog post takes up a LOT of space. So I’ve decided to break it down into 25 day chunks. Day 25 (re-posted above) is where we left off. So here’s to continuing.

Day 26)
6 February
Went on a date, during which we went to one of my all time favorite local restaurants AND ran into more than one person from UVM. Definitely made it more fun.

Day 27)
7 February
More fun times with COSTUME CREW. And the Sochi Olympic Opening Ceremonies. And we totally geeked out to dancing. Which one non-dancer in the room commented, “You two with dance is like me with football.” Well, yes. And we’re damn proud of it too!

Day 28)
8 February
Another good date in which I could point and laugh at a computer tech whose computer wasn’t working, and we Chromecasted Brave from my phone. (WIN!) Also will note – my date picked the movie. Anyone with a healthy respect for Disney/Pixar is good in my books.

Day 29)
9 February
Happiness in the form of a board meeting. Made some decisions about the coming years that make me happy.

Day 30)
10 February
Published my Rules (as they currently stand) as a blog post. Such a small thing, but it’s making me exceedingly happy.

Day 31)
11 February
Shared the hot chocolate packets. Discovered “Benedict Cumberbatch and the Sign of Four (or Is It Three?)” on YouTube. Oh PBS… Murray-arity?

Day 32)
12 February
“If Sochi Was Hoth” – ‘nough said.

Day 33)
13 February
Gregory Maguire made it into Barnes & Noble’s Classics Library with combination book that includes both Wicked and Son of a Witch. Then found out that I had a snow day on Friday! Oh and Leonard Nemoy is performing with the Boston Pops in the spring!

Day 34)
14 February
SNOW DAY! Also, Valentine’s Day – I had a card from my parents in the mail!

Day 35)
15 February
Valentine’s Themed Social! It was absolutely wonderful to see everyone and to dance the night away! I got all of the new signage put together, so that made me happy!

Day 36)
16 February
Costume Crew, then over to the new warehouse to watch rehearsals. It was amazing. Seriously. If you live anywhere near here, you should go see Les Mis, April 4-13!

Day 37)
17 February
Powered through most of my economics homework and pinned a lot of funny things on Pinterest. Felt accomplished with myself at 11:30 for all of five minutes! (Sometimes that’s all we need.)

Day 38)
18 February
Completed ALL of my economics homework for over break. Went out to dinner with a bunch of the grads before we went to see American Promise. Depressing movie – for more than the original intended purpose of the film I think.

Day 39)
19 February
Education heavy day. Kept finding inspiring education related quotes. Then, to lighten it up a bit, I took the “Which Downton Character Do You Fancy?” quiz on PBS.org and got Tom Branson.

Day 40)
20 February
Last class before vacation, and managed (45 minutes before class started) to figure out what exactly my professor meant when she said my standard and my topic didn’t match. And when she asked if I’d understood, I was able to point to exactly the standard she thought would go better. I GOT IT. That felt good. Went dancing later that night to shake off some other bad feelings, and had a good time, for all that I ran into people I’d rather never see again.

Day 41)
21 February
Costume halfway party – including my most favorite American Chinese food dish – crab rangoon! Then went out to Vermont Tap House with a bunch of the cast and creative team. More fun!

Day 42)
22 February
Parents came up and we went to Texas Roadhouse. Had fun, though the restaurant definitely doesn’t make my top ten. Liked the food, not the atmosphere. Had fun with my parents anyway. 🙂

Day 43)
23 February
I just did two pointe shoe fittings AT THE SAME TIME, and found shoes that worked for both of them really easily!

Day 44)
24 February
The cat slept at the end of the bed. She seems to have figured out that I am not here to be some human torture device.

Day 45)
25 February
Learned how to get hair spray off of my glasses’ lenses! Isopropyl alcohol! Also – getting new frames. Spent ten minutes trying to decide between the frames that made me feel like the Doctor and the frames that made me feel like Peter Parker. Went with the “Doctor” frames because I would be able to lie down in bed and watch movies with them on more comfortably than with my current frames. (Also, my current frames make epic night out frames.) Tried 3 of the 4 new B&J Core flavors too. Gladiator, B&J, and great friends!

Day 46)
26 February
Running around finishing up the financial report. Stressed out, but totally happy about it. Weird.

Day 47)
27 February
First Latin lesson in FOR-EH-VER. Awesomeness.

Day 48)
28 February
Best friend came to visit me for lunch. 🙂 We haven’t spoken much since he took 2nd shift at his job – our schedules just don’t line up.

Day 49)
1 March
A really good friend turn 25 on Friday, so we celebrated on Saturday! Cards Against Humanity was included in the celebration.

Day 50)
2 March
THE OSCARS! Also, board meeting. I am so excited about the upcoming social dance we have planned – it will be completely and totally awesome. Speaking of – does anyone know how to do 50s styled hair? I need it for the sock hop! Benedict Cumberbatch hiding behind Brad and Angelina the whole night, and pizza being delivered to the audience. I mean, come on, how cool is that? Shock and amazement that John Travolta could so thoroughly mess up saying Idina Menzel’s name. Idina Menzel herself. We could listen to you sing “Let It Go” all night.
