100 Happy Days, Part 1
100 Happy Days, Part 2

Last time on 100 Happy Days:

Day 50)
2 March
THE OSCARS! Also, board meeting. I am so excited about the upcoming social dance we have planned – it will be completely and totally awesome. Speaking of – does anyone know how to do 50s styled hair? I need it for the sock hop! Benedict Cumberbatch hiding behind Brad and Angelina the whole night, and pizza being delivered to the audience. I mean, come on, how cool is that? Shock and amazement that John Travolta could so thoroughly mess up saying Idina Menzel’s name. Idina Menzel herself. We could listen to you sing “Let It Go” all night.

Day 51)
March 3
Day off – first Monday off in eons. Did nothing, except maybe read a little.

Day 52)
March 4
First day back at school. Hanging out with fellow grad students, drinking hot chocolate. Realizing I didn’t have to run out to Mv because they were closed for Town Meeting Day.

Day 53)
March 5
Work early. Three hours of babysitting, during which kiddo was asleep for about half the time. Caught up on M.A.O.S while he was sleeping. What was T.A.H.I.T.I.? I need to know!

Day 54)
March 6
Got up extra early to pick up the fingerprinting packet out in Mv. Discovered a really awesome twisty piece of road en route – was mentally yelling “weeee” through the whole bit. Also busted out Wicked at the top of my lungs during the drive.

Day 55)
March 7
“Friday, Happy Friday! I hope you have a nice weekend! It’s Friday, Happy Friday! I’ll see you all again on Monday! Friday, Happy Friday! I hope you’ve heard the news! That Friday’s coming! Friday’s here! Friday is my friend!” – Thank you, Dr. McCann. No matter what, when it’s Friday and I’m about to feel like it’s going down the drain, this song always cheers me up! Also, I had dinner with a good chunk of the Les Mis creative team after I got done with costume crew. I also was ridiculously proud of the work I did on Marius’ pants tonight.

Day 56)
March 8
Lunch/Afternoon window shopping/tea with Mum. Also got to see what the hotel rooms at Hotel Vermont look like. Just a fun afternoon. And Dad got interviewed on TV.

Day 57)
March 9
Time change threw everything off, but had an awesome day anyway. Discovered articles on Women’s History Month at the Google Cultural Institute’s website.

Day 58)
March 10
Hyping up the sock hop? Why yes, I’m having lots of fun doing it too! Also discovered a search engine for devices online… creepy, but also totally geeked out on the “new” tech side of it.

Day 59)
March 11
Weird things banned in schools… Need I say more?

Day 60)
March 12
NEW GLASSES PICKED UP!

Day 61)
March 13
My neighbors snowblowed me out of the driveway so I could get to work. Totally wonderful of them!

Day 62)
March 14
Another Friday come and gone. Sewed, sewed, sewed, sewed. Went out to dinner afterwards and had a blast stuck between my two favorite cast members, even if I listened to a lot of conversation about opera.

Day 63)
March 15
Ides of March AND the SOCK HOP! Running around in circles with curlers still in my hair, then going to work, ironing my dress, then going and having a very 1950s time taking pictures and posting superlatives. Then went to the cast party after that. Found the house after some back and forth.

Day 64)
March 16
Stayed overnight at the cast party (since we got there so late). Went straight from there to the costume shop for fittings. Had a grand ol’ time there, helping with fittings and then making adjustments. Ran into my third favorite cast member, who remembered me from running into her at dinner, and had actually just finished an adjustment on her dress when she came in. Talk about timing. Also discovered a man singing “Let It Go” impersonating a whole slew of Disney characters. It was amazing. Also may have discovered that April 1st is “Confuse the Muggles” day. World’s best April Fool’s Day joke if people can pull it off.

Day 65)
March 17
St. Patty’s day – and instead of celebrating the Irish way, decided to sit down and watch Sunshine on Leith: The Musical, which is, of course, Scottish. Fell in love. Can’t stop singing it.

Day 66)
March 18
Lyric video went live online! It’s getting so close! “One Day More”! Also, fully knowing that it was going to be a long night for class, took off with a couple roommates to shop for snacks to get us through an APA workshop, class time, and a GTEW (Graduate Teacher’s Education Workshop).

Day 67)
March 19
Found a video that will help me fix my netbook. Still have to order the replacement part, but still happy it doesn’t mean I have to spend money on a completely new system. Also discovered a blog post on TED Ed all about engaging students that made me happy.

Day 68)
March 20
Boston Ballet Pre-Pro students behind-the-scenes video was kind of epic. They did a photoshoot for Northshore Magazine. Also, even if the snow says otherwise, it’s still the first day of spring.

Day 69)
March 21
Long day, but more sewing occurred. Grabbed food at Panara and finished up the apron I had started on Wednesday night. Had a moment of revelation that the way I had been doing the apron was more work than I needed to do. I really only had to do one strap around the head and not two straps that I had no idea where we were going to connect them. Rather proud of that apron actually.

Day 70)
March 22
Re-choreographed the end for the sibling piece. Took off for Boston singing “I’m On My Way” at the top of my lungs. Ate Lamb Souvlaki for dinner, and it was just as good as I remember that place being. Went to the ballet and loved Sir Frederick Ashton’s choreography for Cinderella. Thought it was interesting that there was no evil step mother and that the father was still alive.

Day 71)
March 23
Went to Crane Beach with a pack of greyhounds, reached my number of steps “goal” for the day by 11:00 am as a result. Saw horses on the beach. Ate lunch at Woodman’s. Drove home. Had dinner at the Farmhouse. Good day.

Day 72)
March 24
My copy of the Chicago Manual of Style came in the mail today. I’m taking a ridiculous amount of glee from reading this book and marking differentiations from the AAA* addendum in the margins. I’m actually using marking up and reading it as relaxation time away from what I should be doing. Decided to order a paper copy of APA because I’ll need it, and the digital version I got from Google Books just doesn’t feel like enough. Let’s face it, I will just never fully love APA and will stop using it as soon as I’m allowed. (Chicago is used for History mainly, but since AAA uses it as a base system, you’re still kind of using it for Anthropology.)

Day 73)
March 25
So weird being back in a school again, but also really awesome. I mostly helped out in the background, but I got introduced to all of the classes.

Day 74)
March 26
Kids writing scripts, acted out by adults, and dubbed by the kids. Best. Thing. Ever.

Day 75)
March 27
Knowing I have friends who can keep me in good humor even if I’m so tired I’m practically falling off my chair at work is amazing. Thank goodness for friends. (I’m sorry… A secret hiding spot for a car is so very James Bond that anyone could have made that mistake.

On to 100 Days, Part 4… The Final Installment.
